Office colorblocking

Office colorblocking

Office colorblocking by moony214

I HATED COLORBLOCKING. I still do sometimes, i hate non contrasting combinations like a poorly made 80's makeup. I found this honeysuckle blet jacket and i started working around it. My mind was going for the office look as soon as i saw the pencil skirt and the forest green top.

The pencil skirt is the right way to go when you have a job that requires a certain attire. I added the the detailed top so it balances the bright jacket making it waerable, not obvious. Black shoes are required from my point of view. Black, comfy, 2 inch heel shoes.

I didn't go overboard with accesorizing the outfit. The blazer is bright, the top has ruffles so i would choose not to add a necklace. But i'd add the unisex watch and cute bead earrings that match the non-bright part of the outfit. Also i added a big shoulder bag, thinking about a laptop, lunch, stff for touching your makeup... etc.

The quad i chose was a simple click-and-like. Two neutral colors, two greens that match the skirt and top. It can't get any better. Nude-pink manicure.

The eye makeup would be fairly simple, but simmilar to this, removing the purple and continuing the green-turquoise shadow a bit under the lower lashes.

Just today a fellow blogger asked about where to find a nice tutu dress, ballerina style, but longer. I suggested finding the right tutu skirt and then change it with different tops and accesories.

Because polyvore does not have a high selection of tutus, i went for the purple one and i considered black as the first alternative. Because the tutu is such a center-piece, i chose the black, simple, squoval cut shirt and black leggings. I added a purple waist fitted jacket and purple velvet pumps... and i saw too late thet they're peep toe. Pretend they are not.

There's enough purple in the outfit, so i counter with a soft pink chain clutch with petal details on it. Also, i see a flowery headband in the same color completing a side pony tail with large curls.

For the jewelry, i would like a long necklace that has simmilar details as the clutch or headband.

The makeup: classic dark smokey eyes with a bit of face contouring, a nuded lip (forgot to add) and a warm nude nailpolish.

Even if i don't wear dresses, i like them. I love clean, simple cuts lie this one, that will make almost any body shape look good. It's a warm fall look, still not giving up on summer by adding a bright red blazer on top of the dress. The nude and black toe shoes look as classy as the other two pieces.

Because of the laqeur flats, i added a simmilar black boe belt for the waitsline to add the cuteness factor. I would probably wear it a little to the side.

The dress has no big fluffy details and also has a simplu neckline so i would spice it up with a long necklace with a few beige/black detalinig and a black gem cocktail ring.

For the makkeup, i would keep it in pink/caramel/chocolate tones, mascara, classic red nails and nude gloss. The perfume is just a personal preferece.

Clear sky/Grey clouds

A look inspired by a phenomenon in London. One day is perfectly ugly and cludy, next one is sunny and a gorgeous clear sky. I put my inspiration on the contrast between cyan and grey: cyan jeans along with a simple, long, grey, three quarter sleeve top. I paired it with nice sport shoes having the same colour contrast and a big bag.

Accesories are not a must in this kind of colour based outfit, but i found a nice bracelet to complete the top's smaller sleeves. On the nails i would love to see either alternating cyan and grey or having the accent color on the ring-finger's nail.

For the makeup... simple. Eyeliner, some mascara, golden-sunkissed cheeks and nude-brown lip.

I've seen this look alot on the London streets. Light coloured jeans (white, beige, even gray) with a long knitted top, comfy nude shoes and a shoulder bag to work with the shoes and hold a lovely umbrella.

The accesories are the colour accents. Here, a red ininity scarf around the neck, a red watch and thich leather bracelet, along with a kind of pin-up makeup: thin eyeliner, glowy cheeks and red lipstick.
